Internacional vs Avai Match Preview
Internacional have beaten Paysandu (0-1) midway through the week to confirm their ticket to the Copa do Brasil Quarter-finals, as Paolo Guerrero found the net late in the game and secured them the fourth win in five outings across competitions.
Colorado have been convincing in front of the home fans and we’ve already seen them beat Flamengo (2-1), Cruzeiro (3-1), CSA (2-0), and Paysandu (3-1) in four outings since early May, which promises them in great shape early in June as well. They’ve been conceding goals, though, and focused on scoring that extra goal along the way.
Avai sit on the opposite end of the table and have just three points bagged in six games, as we saw them struggling to produce on the road. Furthermore, they come into the match with a home loss to Ceara (1-2) behind them and it’s now tough to see Geninho’s men bouncing back at Estadio Jose Pinheiro Borda.
Leao da Ilha suffered losses at Atletico Mineiro (2-1) and Bahia (1-0) in late April and early May, respectively, only bouncing with a 1-1 draw at struggling Vasco da Gama. They’ve found a last-minute equalizer in Rio as Daniel Amorim netted a beautiful header but getting the points here should prove even tougher.
We will thus back Internacional to secure the points in an exciting contest, as we go for a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 6/4 with Paddy Power – which has caught the eye of many as the home side regularly enjoy such clashes at this ground.
However, we do see Avai getting on the scoresheet and doing their bit in making this a thriller contest, as we now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 6/4 with William Hill hoping to see them convert their chances once again.
