Inter Milan vs SPAL Match Preview
Inter have dropped to the 4th spot and now have both Roma and Lazio breathing down their necks in a thriller chase to secure the Champions League spots next term, hosting SPAL in search of all-important points and an end to a three-match winless streak across competitions.
Nerazzurri have been denied points at Fiorentina (3-3) and Cagliari (2-1) in Serie A and only snatched a goalless draw at Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League, which leaves a lot to play for in the second leg and adds to their very tough schedule to follow. We thus feel they’ll be very motivated to pick up their team spirits against the bottom-of-the-table rivals on Sunday.
SPAL sit just above the relegation zone and still hold a five-point gap mainly for the rivals’ struggles to bag points, as Leonardo Semplici’s men earned just two in their five outings since early February.
They have held Torino (0-0) and Sassuolo (1-1) in draws but suffered more worrying losses to Atalanta (2-1), Fiorentina (1-4), and Sampdoria (1-2) along the way. They have been scoring goals but it’s questionable whether this can be enough to snatch anything at Giuseppe Meazza – despite a dressing room crisis Inter are undeniably going through.
We will stick with Inter to secure the points in front of the home fans and do so in an exciting contest as we go for a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 6/5 with William Hill, hoping to finally see them outgun the rivals and show character in the final third.
However, we don’t see them doing so without conceding as well and with SPAL scoring on the regular away from home, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at enticing Evens with bet365.
