Iceland vs France Match Preview
France have seen a 2-0 loss in Turkey back in June and now sit behind the Group H pace-setters in an exciting chase for their EURO 2020 spots, travelling to Iceland for their Matchday 7 clash on Friday in hope they can build on a top 2 spot and challenge Turkey once again.
Les Bleus have connected a three-match winning streak since then, though, and will now have high hopes they can build on it. They’ve beaten Andorra twice (0-4 on the road and 3-0 in front of the home fans) as well as Albania (4-1) along the way, boasting a great goalscoring tally of recent.
Iceland sit just three points behind the top 2 and will surely have ideas of their own, despite being denied in 4-2 loss in Albania now behind them. It was just as disappointing for the fact it ended a streak of three wins, despite finding the net twice and keeping up their solid displays in the final third.
Strakarnir Okkar have beaten Albania (1-0), Turkey (2-1), and Moldova (3-0) since June and certainly have ground to build on, despite possibly the biggest challenge yet here. They’ve been a tougher side to beat in Reykjavik and we now hope to see them show off as such an outfit once again.
Still, we feel France will have what it takes to overcome such a challenge at Laugardalsvollur and we now hope to see them outgun the rivals to the all-important points, as we go for an Away win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 13/10 with Coral.
As said, we hope to see Iceland give the rivals a run for the money and with that in mind, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 6/5 with William Hill. France haven’t really impressed defensively when away from home and this does feel like further evidence for such a bet.
