Iceland vs Andorra Match Preview
Iceland host Andorra for their Matchday 8 EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash on Monday evening, just days after their all-important clash against France at the same ground, hoping to keep up with the Group H top 2 as they sit just three points behind after six games played.
Strakarnir Okkar should be in for much less of a challenge and seeing their winning streak interrupted in Albania (4-2 in September) will be very disappointing, but it feels there could still be a lot to play for. They’ve beaten Albania (1-0), Turkey (2-1), and Moldova (3-0) beforehand and we now expect them looking for another convincing setup.
Andorra have been the group outsiders for a reason and while they have been putting on some solid challenges along the way, Koldo’s men sit rock-bottomed with no points to their name. They host Moldova for their Friday’s clash in hope to end the unwanted streak but the trip to Reykjavik should be a different story altogether.
Els Tricolors have struggled to perform on the road and this has been a serious issue, as they failed to find the net on any of their last five trips – with 12 goals conceded along the way. They have little to play for but will surely hope not to be an easy target, something many in the know predict them to be.
We don’t see them coping, though, and we’ll now go for Iceland to bag a convincing win at Laugardalsvollur as we stick with Asian Handicap – Iceland to win -2.5 goals at 1/2 with Coral. Andorra have been conceding many goals and this now feels like more of a banker bet.
We should be in for goals but with the hope visitors will not make it on the scoresheet, we’re now also sticking with Under 3.5 Goals FT at 19/20 with 22bet. Iceland haven’t scored more than three goals since January 2018 and we don’t see them doing so now either.
