Hungary vs Azerbaijan Match Preview
Azerbaijan have finally ended their seven-match winless streak across competitions with a friendly win over Bahrain (2-3), where they still looked shaky at the back but managed to score three goals and return to the winning ways. They now travel to Hungary for their EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash hoping to build on it, but are in for a much stronger challenge.
Milli have been scoring goals quite regularly and this was not the problem one would say, but their defensive slip-ups made it hard to capitalize in a tough Group E. We have seen some tough challenges and holding off Croatia (1-1) in front of the home fans in September will surely be a boost to their confidence, despite being their only point so far.
Hungary have more to play for as they sit just behind the Group’s top 2 with nine points to their name, where they beat Croatia (2-1) and Wales (1-0) at this ground as well as Azerbaijan (1-3) at Bakcell Arena in Baku. However, they now have a troubled streak behind them and have a lot to prove.
Magyars have seen a friendly loss to Montenegro (2-1) and a similar Qualifiers loss to Slovakia (1-2) at home, which will feel very disappointing as Dominik Szoboszlai’s goal proved nothing more than a consolation. They now need more and will surely be very motivated to get it against the rock-bottomed rivals.
We will thus back them to turn another very exciting head-to-head clash their way and we’ll go for Hungary to bag a win at Groupama Arena and Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 4/6 with Paddy Power and feels like buying money for old rope.
As said, we have seen Azerbaijan scoring goals on the regular and we now hope for more of the same. We do see them making it on the scoresheet on Sunday and we’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with bet365.
