Hull City vs Blackburn Rovers Match Preview
Home advantage could be highly significant for Hull as they aim to stop Blackburn from completing a hat-trick of victories within eight days.
After two defeats to open their Championship campaign, Blackburn have hit the winning trail as they collected their first three points on Saturday, 1-0 against Middlesbrough, having also edged out Oldham in the Carabao Cup.
But both of Rovers’ successes were at their Ewood Park home, and the only time they have travelled so far this season they lost 2-0 away to Fulham.
For Hull, the fixture balance has been the other way round – three road trips and one home game. Significantly, their only Championship triumph so far was at their KCOM Stadium, 2-1 against Reading, while a 3-0 win at Tranmere in the Carabao Cup will also have boosted manager Grant McCann and his squad.
What will have particularly pleased McCann, who took over from Nigel Adkins this summer, is how his star forward Jarrod Bowen has started the season with two goals in three games after a rumoured move to the Premier League failed to materialise for the 22-year-old.
These clubs were separated by only two points in the table last term and as they look evenly matched, we will side with Hull as the home team to push themselves up the early standings with three more points.
