Huddersfield vs Hull Match Preview
Huddersfield picked up their first victory of the season on Tuesday evening as a Juninho Bacuna strike saw them beat Stoke 1-0. Town were a little lucky as the Potters were the better team but it means they have taken four points from their last two.
At the John Smith’s Stadium, the Terriers are without a victory since February 2016 and will hope to build on a draw last time here. A lack of home goals is the problem having netted just three which is the lowest of any side in the league.
Hull also won in midweek as a Tom Eaves goal give them a 1-0 home success over an in-form Sheffield Wednesday. The home side were the better side and continued their own good run making it five without defeat.
Away from the KCOM Stadium, the Tigers have had mixed form with one victory (over Luton), two draws (at Brentford and Milwall) and a defeat (to Swansea). They have netted in each of their four road trips with three seeing both teams scoring.
Can Huddersfield take the result in midweek and build on it for their first home win of the season? At the odds you would not want to trust them to do so but Danny Cowley is a manager who uses confidence to full effect as shown in previous cup runs for Lincoln. Take the home side to come out strong and back them to net in the opening half. Hull also carry a goal threat so also have a small interest on both teams to net in the opening 45 minutes.
