Hibernian vs Rangers Match Preview
Rangers travel to Edinburgh for their Matchday 29 clash on Friday evening looking for their first win over the rivals since December 2017, when goals from Windass and Morelos completed a comeback and brought all three points in a 1-2 win at this ground.
Gers have been in great shape and securing a replay of their FA Cup clash at Aberdeen in a 1-1 draw will be a confidence booster too, extending a ten-match unbeaten streak across competitions as Steven Gerrard’s men beat Kilmarnock (5-0), Hamilton (0-5), and Dundee (4-0) in high-scoring clashes beforehand.
Hibernian have seen a more disappointing FA Cup clash on their end as Celtic (0-2) cut their campaign short at this ground, also ending their four-match winning streak across competitions. They have proven themselves a tough nut to crack at Easter Road but struggled to retain consistency, which will prove just as worrying at this point.
Hibs have beaten Raith Rovers (3-1), Hamilton (2-0), Dundee (2-4), and St. Johnstone (1-2) beforehand, though, and we’ll surely see them very motivated to bounce back quickly. They sit just three points clear of 7th placed St Johnstone and building on their spot will be a crucial task with some very important clashes late in the 1st Phase campaign.
Nonetheless, we do feel Rangers have what it takes to cause an upset at Easter Road this time around and end a streak of three consecutive draws in head-to-head clashes with an Away win priced at 7/10 with bet365.
They should be forced into an exciting contest with goals by the rivals, though, and we thus expect a high-scoring clash! We’ll back Over 2.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with William Hill, which could as well prove the best way to go about the fixture at this point.
