Hibernian vs Celtic Match Preview
Celtic travel to Edinburgh for their Matchday 7 clash on Saturday, just days after their mid-week League Cup clash against Partick Thistle (5-0) – as they look to build on a great streak early in the new campaign and their weekend win over Kilmarnock (3-1), where Odsonne Edouard (x2) and Ryan Christie completed the comeback.
Bhoys have only seen goals from all directions and only Rennes (1-1 draw in France) interrupt their rock-solid streak of seven wins across competitions, which sees them top the Premiership table with 18 points to their name after six outings. They have struggled to score as many goals on the road lately, though, and this could feel more worrying for the travelling fans.
Hibernian had a streak of three losses to bounce back from as they travel to Killie on Wednesday evening, as they fell down the pecking order in Premiership and now still have just four points to their name. They have been tougher to beat at Easter Road and will hope to prove it once again, though, coming just as motivated.
Hibs have seen Motherwell (3-0), Kilmarnock (2-0), and Hearts (1-2) all snatch the points and Paul Heckingbottom will need to find a quick fix. Coping with in-form Celtic will obviously be no easy task and we don’t really see them building on recent head-to-head records against the rivals at this ground.
We will thus stick with Celtic to turn an exciting clash their way here and we’ll go for an Away win and a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 15/8 with Coral and looks like more than a lively longshot as Celtic don’t really feel as stable and confident at the back.
With that in mind, we hope to see them outgun the rivals to snatch the points, as we make a case for a high-scoring occasion and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 4/7 bet365 – which has been seen as buying money for old rope by many in the know already.
