Hibernian vs Arbroath Match Preview
Hibernian have been held off in a 1-1 draw at Stirling Albion on Matchday 1 and while they’ve won the bonus point on penalties, they now host two League Cup clashes in a matter of days meeting Arbroath Tuesday after their weekend match against Alloa Athletic in search of points to challenge the top of the Group C table.
Hibs have been conceding numbers of goals and struggled to shake off a feeling of shortcomings in the defensive third, but they have still connected a winning streak as they turned pre-season thrillers their way against Dunfermline Athletic (1-3) and Carlisle United (3-4) since their loss at Gayfield Park.
Arbroath have secured a direct promotion to Championship last term and they’ve shown off as a tough side as they beat Elgin City (2-1) and Stirling Albion (1-6) in two League Cup outings so far. However, causing an upset at Easter Road should prove more of a task.
Red Lichties have known struggles on the road too and this sounds even more worrying as their win at Stirling Albion only ended a seven-match winless streak away from home. They should be in a great mood and this does promise a solid challenge, as Dick Campbell’s men look for another upset against the Hibs.
We don’t see them making it happen this time around, though, and we’ll now rather stick with the home side to turn an exciting game their way – as we back Hibernian to win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 2/1 with Unibet.
Indeed, this feels like more than a lively longshot at this point and with that in mind, we’re now also backing a high-scoring contest and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 4/7 with 22Bet. We’ve seen both sides enjoying such clashes lately and this feels like evidence for such a bet too.
