Hertha Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund Match Preview
Borussia Dortmund have struggled for consistency across competitions and now dropped to the 2nd spot in Bundesliga despite a 3-1 win over Stuttgart, as Bayern Munich have better goal difference to their name after 25 games played. They will now want to challenge the rivals as they take on a trip to Berlin but Lucien Favre’s men should be in for another tough challenge.
BVB haven’t been able to turn clashes their way on the road and this will be even more worrying, as they were beaten by Tottenham (3-0) and Augsburg (2-1) and held to draws by Eintracht Frankfurt (1-1) and Nurnberg (0-0) all since early February. This will now come off as even more of a worry on their mind, with a history of tough trips to Olympiastadion behind them.
Hertha have, on the other end, seen another disappointing trip last week as Freiburg (2-1) beat them to the points with a late own-goal from Vedad Ibisevic. They’ve been tougher to beat at home ground and we’ve been used to a more challenging outfit here, where holding off Werder Bremen (1-1) and beating Mainz 05 (2-1) in two outings will be more promising.
Die Alte Dame have thus been scoring numbers of goals at Olympiastadion and we expect them very motivated to build on such a streak despite a tough challenge looming, which has us backing an exciting contest after seeing goals on both ends on the regular in head-to-head clashes as well.
We will now back Hertha Berlin to hold off BVB on Saturday and largely dent their title hopes once again, as we stick our necks out for an exciting Draw at 11/4 with William Hill.
We do hope to see goals and with that in mind, going for a Yes on Both teams to score feels like a generous banker bet at 4/6 with Paddy Power. We have seen just that in four of the last six head-to-head clashes and this feels like further evidence for such a bet on the day.
