Hearts vs Celtic Match Preview
Celtic travel to Edinburgh for their Matchday 28 clash on Wednesday looking to build on a convincing display we’ve seen against Motherwell (4-1) over the weekend, where Scott Sinclair, Odsonne Edouard (x2), Oliver Burke found the net and saw Brendan Rodgers’ outfit bounce back from a disappointing Europa League exit to Valencia (3-0 on aggregate).
Bhoys have struggled in two fixtures against the Spanish rivals but we’ve still seen them extend a convincing streak domestically, boasting an eight-point gap at the top of the table and making it to the FA Cup Quarter-finals as they go nine matches without being denied a win.
Hearts will now hope to finally interrupt such a streak and although they find themselves in Cup Quarter-finals too (beating Auchinleck Talbot 4-0 earlier in February), Craig Levein’s men have been far from impressive and could have a hard battle for a top 6 spot late in the campaign.
Jam have been denied the points by Motherwell (in a 2-1 loss on the road) and St. Mirren (in a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle), where doing damage against Celtic comes off as far more of a task. They have beaten the Bhoys in two of the last four head-to-head clashes at this ground but we don’t really see them doing it now.
We will thus back Celtic to another confident win as we go for an Away win to Nil at 6/4 with bet365, which would be their ninth such win in ten outings in Scotland. We have seen Hearts struggling to score on the regular too, which proves to the point just as well.
However, we hope to see Hearts putting on a solid challenge defensively and seeing them rarely conceding many goals at home ground, we’re now also sticking with a low-scoring contest with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with William Hill.
