Hamilton vs Rangers Match Preview
Rangers have lost on their consistency lately and travel to Hamilton for their FA Cup clash with a need for a pick-me-up, just days after hosting Hibernian for their Premiership clash in an attempt to close the seven-point gap to league pace-setters Celtic – having been denied points twice in the last three outings.
Gers dropped all three points at Hearts (2-1) in late January and while they bounced quickly with a 2-0 win over Ross County, Steven Gerrard’s men saw Aberdeen snatch a point in a goalless draw at Ibrox. They have struggled to convert chances and will now want more in the final third at Fountain of Youth Stadium.
Hamilton Academical come into the busy week with a three-match losing streak and they sit rock-bottomed after a thrashing 1-4 loss to Celtic, where Marios Ogboe’s opener proved nothing but a consolation as the rivals bagged three late goals here. They have been scoring goals on the regular but struggled with defensive inconsistency, which has been emphasized on Sunday.
Accies conceded six goals in losses to Hibs (2-1) and Livingston (2-4) beforehand, taking the lead on both occasions and still seeing the points go the other way. Brian Rice has a lot to think about and we feel his men are in for another great challenge here, despite Gers’ troubles of recent.
We will thus stick with Rangers to turn another exciting clash in Hamilton their way, backing the visitors to win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with Paddy Power – which seems like a solid approach to the fixture.
Still, Hamilton have been scoring goals and they’ll want to show off on the day as well. We’ve seen them score at least a goal in all of their last five outings and with that in mind, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 13/10 with William Hill.
