After failing to qualify for the 2017 tournament, Haiti now gave their fans much more to be happy about as they beat Bermuda (2-1) and Nicaragua (2-0) to make their way to the knockout stages – now meeting Costa Rica for their Matchday 3 clash at Red Bull Arena only to seal the deal and challenge the top spot.

Les Grenadiers have struggled for defensive consistency across competitions but still boast great goalscoring records more recently, which will have them very motivated to cope with Ticos. They’ve met big guns through the pre-tournament friendlies and put on fine challenges but still failed to capitalize, which could just be the case here.

Costa Rica have seen similar struggles for consistency but kicked it off with a convincing display against Nicaragua (4-0), where goals from Bryan Oviedo, Celso Borges, Elias Aguilar, and Allan Cruz secured a way back to the winning ways and a great take on a top 2 spot.

Ticos have been scoring numbers of goals lately too and in-form Joel Campbell led the line, as they found the net six times over the course of two games. They’ve had great records in clashes Haiti too and building on such a tally with be an important task for Gustavo Matosas and his men.
