Guingamp vs Monaco Match Preview

Monaco failed to convert their chances as they saw Caen (0-1) snatch all three points at Stade Louis II last week, ending their seven-match unbeaten streak and potentially setting them back into the danger zone as they travel to Guingamp for their Matchday 31 clash on Saturday evening.

Les Monegasques have indeed picked it up since January but still sit just eight points clear of the rivals sitting in the relegation zone. They’ve earned five points on last three trips as they held off Montpellier (2-2), Angers (2-2), and beat Lille (0-1) in exciting occasions over the past two months – which will have them motivated to build on such a streak here.

However, Guingamp will surely have plans of their own and while they’ve largely struggled for consistency – with a 2-0 loss at Montpellier seen midway through the week – Jocelyn Gourvennec’s men have shown off as a very tough side to beat at Stade du Roudourou time and time again.

EAG have thus beaten Angers (1-0), Dijon (1-0), and held Nantes to a goalless draw here since mid-February, keeping clean sheets on all of the occasions along the way. They will now want to build on such records but shutting down Monaco should still prove a tougher task.

We will stick with Guingamp to do so, though, and we’ll now stick our necks out for them with a Double Chance – Home win or Draw at 3/4 with bet365. We’ve seen many sides struggling at this ground and Les Monegasques should see a bit of that as well.

However, we do expect goals on both ends this time around and we’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 19/20 with bet365.
