Gremio vs Atletico Mineiro Match Preview
Gremio have struggled for points early in the new Serie A campaign and they host Atletico Mineiro with just two to their name after five outings, as Renato Gaucho looks for a cure in search for a return to the winning ways after three games across competitions without one.
Immortal Tricolor have seen just a goalless draw at Juventude as their goalscoring woes continue, struggling to impress on the road and bounce from a goalless draw at Corinthians and a 2-1 loss at Ceara seen beforehand. They have been tougher at Arena do Gremio but can hardly boast great consistency here either.
Atletico Mineiro have seen quite a contrasting start and now sit 2nd placed, beating Flamengo (2-1) in front of the home fans last time out in Serie A. However, they’ve seen a narrow yet disappointing Copa Sudamericana loss at Chilean rivals Union La Calera and now have a lot on their minds too.
Galo have struggled to keep clean sheets on the road but this has just seen their three-match winning streak away from home ended, as they beat Vasco (1-2), Ceara (1-2), and Zamora (1-2) in Copa Libertadores beforehand. They will now be very motivated for another upset and we do feel they can shock the crowd.
We will thus stick our necks out for the visitors to snatch at least a point and going for a Double Chance – Draw or Atletico Mineiro to win seems like good value at 7/5 with bet365, seeing they’ve been in a better place early on.
We should be in for goals, though, and they’ll have to cope in order to do so. With that in mind, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 11/10 with William Hill -which has caught a lot of attention with both sides struggling for defensive stability.
