Granada vs Valencia Match Preview
Valencia beat Celta Vigo (1-0) with a single goal from Carlos Soler over the weekend and extended a four-match winning streak as they travel to Granada for their Copa del Rey Quarter-finals clash. They now hope to build on it and show off at New Los Carmenes Stadium, which has shown as a tough fort to break down for many big guns this term.
Los Che beat Logrones (0-1), Barcelona (2-0), and Cultural Leonesa (on penalties after a goalless draw) in three outings beforehand, showing off at the back and keeping clean sheets on all of those occasions. Celades will now hope for more of the same and we do too, with another very narrow contest in the making.
Granada beat Espanyol (2-1) on Saturday and built on a thrilling Copa del Rey win over Badajoz (2-3) earlier last week, where their defensive shortcomings came emphasized but they managed to overcome the challenges. They enjoy great team spirits too and now want their only first Cup Semi-final since 1968/69.
Nazaries suffered just two losses (1-2 to Real Sociedad and 1-2 to Levante) in ten home outings since September, beating Barcelona (2-0) and holding off Atletico Madrid (1-1) as major feats along the way. Struggles against bottom-of-the-table rivals more recently will be more worrying and Diego Martinez could have a lot on his mind.
We do expect another great challenge from his men but we don’t see them making it past Valencia here, as we back the visitors to win at 29/20 with BetVictor – which seems like great value seeing they’ve been no strangers to turning such clashes their way lately.
We don’t really feel we should be in for many goals and neither of the sides come into the match with impressive goalscoring tally of recent. With that in mind, we’re also backing Under 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 6/10 with William Hill!
