Granada vs Sevilla Match Preview
Sevilla take on a short trip to Granada for their Matchday 2 clash on the back of a 0-2 win at Espanyol, hoping to build on the success and make it two out of two early in the new campaign. They cannot really boast great records at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes but still come as favourites to snatch the points and we expect them very motivated to do so.
Goals from Reguilion and Nolito proved enough for a rather narrow win for Sevillistas in Cornella de Llobregat last week, as they put a rather unpredictable pre-season campaign behind them – which includes a 2-1 loss at this ground earlier this month. They have been scoring goals though, led by Luuk de Jong up front, and this alone gives Lopetegui ground to build on.
Granada have been very good through their pre-season and they’ve shown off as a tough side to beat, bagging six wins in six outings despite a rather tough schedule. They will now want more of the same and the crowd will surely be desperate for another win over the local rivals when it counts.
Nazaries held on to a thrilling 4-4 draw at Villarreal despite falling behind on three separate occasions and being two down with just 17 minutes on the clock. Despite defensive inconsistencies, Diego Martinez’ men showed character and they’ll surely be no sitting ducks on the day either.
Still, we feel Sevilla will have what it takes to overcome the tough challenge at Los Carmenes and we’ll back them to snatch all three points in an exciting contest, as we go for an Away win at 19/20 with William Hill – which seems like great value at this point.
As said, we don’t feel Granada will be sitting ducks and with that in mind, we expect goals on both ends. Going for a high-scoring contest on Friday thus feels like a great pick and we will back it with Over 2.5 Goals FT, which caught the eye of many in the know as 10/11 with bet365.
