Girona vs Real Sociedad Match Preview
Girona have shocked Real Madrid in a 1-2 win at Santiago Bernabeu last week with second-half goals from Christian Stuani and Portu, escaping the immediate danger zone after struggles to cope with a tough schedule – where they ended a streak of six losses and 13 games without a win.
Gironistes have been more challenging at Estadi Municipal de Montilivi but the 0-2 loss to Huesca comes as a great disappointment too, which should have them very motivated to bounce back as they host Real Sociedad for their Matchday 25 clash on Monday evening.
Real Sociedad come into the match in better shape and on the back of a nine-match unbeaten streak, where they earned five draws and four wins including the 3-0 thrashing of Leganes last week as Mikel Oyarzabal netted a brace and Willian Jose added one.
La Real have had more troubles turning clashes their way on the road but still held off Real Betis (0-0), Rayo Vallecano (2-2), and Valencia (0-0) in last three trips across competitions. Imanol Alguacil will now want more of the same in Girona and we feel they’ll prove a very tough nut to crack.
We will thus stick our necks out for a Draw in Girona, which comes at 9/4 with William Hill and looks like the best approach to the fixture at this point. Both sides have a lot to play for but we don’t see either snatching up all three points this time around.
Still, we feel they’ll be very motivated to do just that and we’re going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 17/20 with Paddy Power! Both come with a couple of high-scoring contests behind them and this feels like evidence for such a bet too, despite a narrow matchup looming.
