Gibraltar vs Georgia Match Preview
Georgia have seen just one loss in their last five outings but this was not enough to keep up with the top 2 in Group D, as they travel to Gibraltar for their Matchday 8 EURO 2020 Qualifiers with a seven-point gap to 2nd placed Denmark and some hope to keep up with points at Victoria Stadium.
Jvarosnebi beat Gibraltar (3-0) in front of the home fans but then suffered a thrashing 5-1 loss in Demark and saw three consecutive draws since then. They held Korea Republic to a 2-2 draw in a friendly thriller and shared the spoils in goalless draws against Denmark (in September) and Republic of Ireland (last week) in front of the home fans since.
The visitors will now hope to show off such a character once again and Gibraltar will surely not be the same sort of a challenge, still looking for their first points in Group D as they expectedly struggled to make an impact – failing to score any goals and seeing quite comfortable losses along the way.
Team 54 saw just one goal make all the difference in Kosovo (1-0) despite a dominant display on the rivals’ end, which will have them hoping for defensive consistency here. However, losses to Denmark (0-6) and Switzerland (4-0) seen beforehand set a totally different tone than Julio Ribas would have hoped.
We don’t feel we’re in for as much of a one-sided contest here but will still back Georgia to snatch the points in a win to Nil, which looks like buying money for old rope at 4/6 with Coral – as Gibraltar still haven’t found the net in seven Qualifiers outings so far.
We hope to see a rather narrow occasion with few goals this time around, though, and with that in mind –we’re also going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 13/10 with William Hill. Georgia haven’t been scoring (or conceding) many goals lately and we hope for more of the same here.
