Georgia vs Gibraltar Match Preview
Georgia host Gibraltar for their Matchday 3 EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash after seeing narrow losses in the hands of Switzerland (0-2) and Republic of Ireland (1-0), putting on tough defensive displays but failing to capitalize or take away anything from the fixtures.
Jvarosnebi now hope to pick it up and finally rediscover their goalscoring form in front of the home fans, as they host struggling rivals predicted to sit at the rock-bottom at the end of the campaign. They will now surely be very motivated and we do feel they have what it takes to turn the clash their way.
However, Gibraltar have struggled to cope with a tough schedule but we have seen them pick it up at the back, as the Republic of Ireland only found the net once in a 0-1 win at Victoria Stadium and Estonia saw a similar scenario in a late-March friendly clash.
Team 54 have thus seen a four-match winless streak extended but it’s been obvious Julio Ribas has been doing good things, which does promise them in a good mood at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena too. We thus hope to see a solid defensive challenge although we don’t see the visitors taking any points on the day either.
We will thus stick with Georgia to turn a narrow contest their way as we back a Home win and Under 2.5 Goals FT at 10/3 with Paddy Power, which seems great value for those keeping faith their struggles to convert will continue.
With that in mind, we’re now also backing the home side to keep a clean sheet, which comes at 4/11 with William Hill and feels like buying money for old rope as Gibraltar netted just two goals in ten trips since October 2015.
