Gent vs Roma Match Preview
Roma travel to Gent for their Europa League clash on the back of a 1-0 home win over the rivals and a more convincing display against Serie A strugglers Lecce (4-0) over the weekend, where Under, Mkhitaryan, Dzeko, and Kolarov all made it on the scoresheet. They now hope to build on the display at GHELAMCO Arena and make their way to the 8th Finals.
Giallorossi have struggled for positive results on the road, though, and look to end a streak of three losses – after seeing a Coppa Italia exit in the hands of Juventus (3-1) as well as league losses at Sassuolo (4-2) and Atalanta (2-1). They’ve been conceding goals quite regularly and Paulo Fonseca will want more from his men.
Gent have shown off as a tough nut and we’ve seen them bounce to the winning ways on Sunday, beating Sint-Truiden (4-1) in front of the home fans. They bagged five wins in seven outings in 2020 and only saw Anderlecht (1-1) snatch a point along the way, which will have them confident as well.
Buffalos have struggled defensively too and this will be more worrying, conceding at least a goal on six of those occasions. They will now be in for a tough task and have a lot to prove if they’re to cause an upset here, with an obvious need to go for goals which could mean open spaces at the back once again.
We do feel Roma will be able to capitalize on such circumstances and we’ll now back them to punch a ticket to the next round with an Away win here, which comes at 5/4 with William Hill and looks like a great approach to the fixture.
Still, we feel they’ll have to outgun the rivals to make it happen in a more exciting contest this time around. With that in mind, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score which comes off as more of a banker bet at 4/7 with William Hill.
