Genoa host Cagliari for their Matchday 37 clash on Saturday with much more pressure on them although the visitors could theoretically drop into the danger zone with two games to play, as the home side sit just a point clear of the relegation zone with Empoli breathing down their necks.

Cesare Prandelli’s men have struggled to turn clashes their way and while they’ve proven themselves a tough side to beat in front of the home fans, this will hardly be enough as they bagged just three points in the last eight outings – including a narrow 2-1 loss at Atalanta now behind them.

Cagliari have 40 points to their name and have seen a very tough schedule lately, as they dropped points to Roma (3-0), Napoli (2-1), and Lazio (1-2) since late April as Partenopei completed a very late comeback and they almost did the same against Lazio.

The visitors have thus seen a great dip in form and it’s hard to say the clash comes at the best time for them, although seeing a relegation would really be a miracle with five sides below them. They will still be motivated to show off and we expect a very tough contest at Luigi Ferraris.
