Genk vs RB Salzburg Match Preview

RB Salzburg have been in great goalscoring form and while this hasn’t brought all three points against St Polten (2-2) on Saturday, they travel to Genk for their Champions League clash on Wednesday in a great mood on the back of a six-match unbeaten streak and looking to catch up with the Group E top 2.

Die Mozartstadter have shown great character but still sit four points behind 2nd placed Napoli, after holding the Italian rivals to an exciting 1-1 draw last time out. They will now want to capitalize on Partenopei’s trip to Liverpool and we’ll surely see them very motivated to show off as dominants now.

Genk have proven themselves a tougher side to beat at Luminus Arena but still managed just one point in four games so far and they’ll have trouble making it to the desired 3rd spot. Wednesday’s clash will make all the difference, though, and we should see this in their setup in front of the home fans.

However, Blue-Whites have struggled lately and we’ve seen a five-match winless streak over the past month. The 2-2 draw at Royal Excel Mouscron on Saturday only ended a streak of three losses, where AS Eupen (2-0), Gent (0-2), and Liverpool (2-1) all snatched the important points.

We should now be in for a similarly exciting contest but we feel RB Salzburg will still have what it takes to secure the points, as we back them at 3/5 with bet365. We’ve seen them in great shape up front and we expect them to outgun the Belgian rivals once again.
