Fulham have not been able to live up to expectations in the Premier League this season. The Cottagers managed to win promotion into the top tier via the Championship play-offs last season and promptly spent £100m on players in the following summer, leading many to believe that they would avoid a relegation fight this season. The reality however, is that the London club were relegated with several weeks left having struggled for points all season long.

After Slavisa Jokanovic was disposed off after a poor start to the campaign, Claudio Ranieri took over briefly at Craven Cottage but was also unable to get a tune out of the team and now Scott Parker has been placed in temporary charge with the brief of improving the side’s fortunes despite relegation having already been confirmed. Parker has managed that in the last few weeks, picking up wins over Bournemouth and Everton in his last two games – can the former midfielder pick up another victory here at odds of 13/10 with PaddyPower.

Cardiff City are in a narrowing fight to avoid relegation to the Championship. Like Fulham, the Welsh outfit were promoted into the Premier League last season, but despite not investing as much in their playing squad they are in a position to still avoid relegation back to the second tier at the first time of asking. As things stand, the Bluebirds sit in 18th position, three points away from Brighton & Hove Albion with just three games remaining.

Neil Warnock has plenty of experience in these relegation battles before but has struggled to keep teams in the Premier League so he will be desperate to do so this time around and it seemed as though a 0-2 win away over their main relegation rivals Brighton last week may put them in a position to do so but that result is the only time they’ve avoided defeat in their last five outings. There has to be value in backing Fulham here. Cardiff have lost no fewer than 22 games this season and although Fulham have somehow lost more, they’ve started to play with more togetherness in the last few weeks and will have regained some confidence after those wins over Everton and Bournemouth.
