Fulham vs Aston Villa Match Preview
Aston Villa shocked Burnley (1-2) in the first half and kept hold of the all-important points despite a very tough challenge in the second, bouncing quickly from a thrashing 3-0 loss at Watford and lifting their team spirits ahead of the FA Cup trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
Villans have been quite unpredictable and will have a tough battle on their hands as they look to secure top-flight survival, now sitting just outside the relegation zone. They will be desperate for a pick-me-up and success on the road surely comes off as a must for Dean Smith and his men.
Fulham have seen an unpredictable run of their own and come into the match after seeing Reading (1-2) snatch all three points on New Year’s Day, where Ivan Cavaleiro’s second-half goal proved nothing more than a consolation as Scott Parker’s men failed to close the gap and put real pressure on the Championship top 2.
Cottagers have beaten Leeds (2-1) and Stoke (1-0) in two home outings beforehand while holding Luton to a thriller 3-3 draw along the way, which all pointed towards an exciting display on New Year’s. Still, they now have to search for a quick fix defensively and we feel they’re in for a tough one.
We will thus stick with Aston Villa to leave Craven Cottage unbeaten as well, going for a Double Chance – Draw or Away win which comes at 4/6 with bet365 and has seen many big hitters lumping already as Villans seem to enjoy a better moment this week.
Indeed, we do feel we’re in for goals and they’ll have to cope in the final third if they’re to do so! With that in mind, we hope to see them on both ends and we’re going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/15 with William Hill – which would be the fifth such occasion in seven home outings for Fulham and seven away outings for Villa, respectively.
