Faroe Islands vs Malta Match Preview
Malta kicked off the EURO 2020 Qualifiers campaign with a 2-1 home win over Faroe Islands, enjoying a great start in a beautiful atmosphere at Ta’Qali National Stadium. However, they now travel to Torshavn for their Matchday 8 clash with seen six consecutive losses behind them and expected struggles to make a serious impact in Group F.
Knights of Malta have been putting on some solid challenges from time to time but still struggled to score goals, which made it impossible to capitalize – as they conceded a high total of 17 goals and saw Spain (0-2), Sweden (3-0 and 0-4 most recently), Romania (0-4 and 1-0), and Norway (2-0) all bag the points.
Faroe Islands have seen a similar fate and sit rock-bottomed with no points to their name, with more comfortable losses all along the way. Romania bagged all three points at Torsvollur with three goals to Nil, as Puscas, Mitrita, and Keseru all found the net towards late in the game.
Landslidid have been tougher to beat at this ground but they’ve had a hard time proving such a character against big guns. They will now hope to at least bid their farewell in front of the home fans with a win over similarly struggling rivals and we do see them making it happen on Tuesday evening.
We will thus stick with Faroe Islands to secure all three points and Home win at 5/6 with bet365 looks like the best approach to the fixture, as Lars Olsen’s men look to take revenge for a 2-1 loss suffered in Malta back in March.
We do feel we’re in for another narrow occasion but we hope to see goals, as we now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 31/20 with Unibet. We’ve seen both struggling defensively and we thus hope to see the home side outgunning Malta to secure the points.
