Everton vs Watford Match Preview
Watford have struggled to impress early in the new campaign but they have been tougher to beat lately and they now hope to prove the same at Goodison Park, as they travel for their League Cup 8th Finals clash on Tuesday evening. They’ve conceded just one goal in three October outings but have just three points to show for it, which will still be worrying.
Hornets held off Sheffield United (0-0), Tottenham (1-1), and AFC Bournemouth (0-0) along the way, as Quique Sanchez Flores finally saw his defensive line deliver. However, they could need more in search of their first-ever win at Goodison Park, which surely comes off as a longshot with the very poor start of the season.
Everton have seen similar woes lately with a rather tough schedule on their hands, where they saw Man City (1-3) snatch all three points at this ground and fell victims to Burnley (1-0) and Brighton (3-2) on the road. They’ve beaten West ham (2-0) in front of the home crowd along the way and will now hope for a similar display on the day.
Toffees earned nine of their ten points total at Goodison and will now obviously have high hopes in the Cup as well. Still, they have just as much to prove here amid a troubles spell of form and we now expect an exciting contest, which could as well be a lifeline for both managers.
We feel Everton will be able to outgun the rivals and secure their ticket to the Quarter-finals here, capitalizing on the home turf as we back them to win at 8/11 with William Hill. We’ve seen them in better shape here and now hope for another such display.
We will go for goals, though, and with hope we’ll see more of a thriller this time around – we’re backing Over 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with bet365. Watford should go all out for an upset even if they concede a goal, which does bode well with our predictions.
