Escobedo vs Sevilla Match Preview
Sevilla travel to Escobedo for their Copa del Rey clash at Tercera Division rivals with somewhat shaky goalscoring records of recent, hoping to build on a three-match unbeaten streak and earn a great pick-me-up at Eusebio Arce Stadium on Sunday. They come on the back of a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao, which emphasized struggles to convert chances once again.
Sevillistas have beaten Bergantinos (0-1) with a rotated line-up in Copa del Rey and built on the success with a 0-2 win at Mallorca late in 2019, which does give Julen Lopetegui ground to build on. Still, he’ll want more up front and finding a quick fix will surely be important with a trip to Madrid looming.
Escobedo obviously come into the match as heavy underdogs but they do have a five-match unbeaten streak behind them, where they earned eight points in four league outings and beat Malaga (2-0) to make their way to the 2nd Round. They have been tough at the back at Eusebio Arce Stadium and will surely want to show off as such a side once again.
Pablo Casar’s men kept clean sheets in four of their last five outings at this ground and will have hopes they can shut down Sevilla, especially if the visitors come with a rotated line-up again. Escobedo obviously lack the same depth in quality, though, and few believe they can now cause a real upset.
We will thus back Sevilla to secure their ticket to the next round here but we’re hoping for a narrow occasion as we go for an Away win to Nil, which comes off as a banker bet despite Escobedo’s fine goalscoring tally in front of the home fans – as La Liga rivals should prove much more of a challenge.
We are hoping for a tough challenge at Eusebio Arce Stadium, though, and with that in mind – we’re hoping for few goals as well. We’ll thus go for Under 3.5 Goals FT, as Sevilla’s woes in the final third seem all but over at this point.
