Empoli vs Genoa Match Preview

Genoa travel to Empoli for their Matchday 21 clash after earning just one point in their last three outings, where Cagliari (1-0) and Milan (0-2) snatched all three points and Fiorentina held them to a goalless draw at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris in the process.

Rossoblu haven’t seen a win since mid-December and it feels Cesare Prandelli has a tough task to lift his men’s team spirits ahead of the trip, where the rivals lag just three points behind in a chase to escape the immediate danger zone midway through the campaign.

Empoli come into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw earned at Cagliari, where only a last-minute equalizer from Diego Farias denied them all three points, but it still extended their five-match winless streak going back as far as early December.

Azzurri have seen losses to Fiorentina (3-1), Sampdoria (2-4), Torino (3-0), and Inter (0-1) beforehand despite some very tough challenges along the way. Giuseppe Iachini thus still has things to be happy about after last week’s draw and he’ll want his men to build on the positives.

We feel we’ll see both sides very motivated to secure the points in a bottom-of-the-table clash but we’re now going for shared spoils, where a Draw looks like the best approach to the fixture at 12/5 with Unibet.
