Eibar vs Espanyol Match Preview
Eibar host Espanyol for their Matchday 20 clash on Monday looking for a quick fix after a thrashing 3-0 loss at Barcelona ended their streak of five consecutive draws, as they sit in the immediate danger zone and just three points clear of 18th placed Rayo Vallecano.
Los Armeros have proven themselves as a tough side to beat but just two goals scored in four outings since mid-December will be more worrying for Mendilibar, as Orellana and Charles only found the net from the penalty spot. They hope to capitalize on the rivals’ woes on the road and doing so, jump them on the league table.
Indeed, Espanyol have struggled on the road and avoided a loss just once (2-2 at Villarreal in Copa del Rey) in their last six trips across competitions. They have picked it up lately and the Cup success against Yellow Submarine will surely be a great boost, promising them in a good mood once again!
RCDE have been scoring more goals lately and this has proven fruitful despite an unpredictable run, as they try to join the top 6 chase midway through the campaign. The visitors will now have a lot to prove and we hope for an exciting challenge at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua as well.
We will stick our necks out for Espanyol to snatch an important point and we’ll go for a Draw at 12/5 with BetVictor, which feels like more than just a lively longshot with both sides desperate for points here.
We should be in for goals and with both sides’ struggles to keep it together at the back, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 10/11 with William Hill. We’ve seen goals on both ends in all of RCDE’s last three as well as three of Eibar’s respective last five outings, which does serve as further evidence for such a bet.
