Egypt vs Zimbabwe Match Preview
Egypt have picked it up through friendlies with Tanzania (1-0) and Guinea (3-1) midway through June and they now open Africa Cup of Nations in front of the home fans as they host Zimbabwe on Friday evening, looking to build on such performances and kick it off on the right foot.
Pharaohs have seen goals coming from all directions but will now surely be led by Liverpool’s Mo Salah up front, retaining consistency and justifying their role of heavy favourites to lift the trophy early on – after struggling through the Qualifiers but still finishing as the best 2nd placed side.
Zimbabwe have, on the other hand, struggled for such pick-me-ups lately and come into the match after sharing the spoils in friendly draws against Nigeria (0-0) and Tanzania (1-1). They’ve struggled to turn clashes their way but still proven themselves a tough nut to crack, which could be worrying for the crowd at Cairo International Stadium.
Warriors have topped their respective Qualifiers group ahead of Congo DR, Liberia, and Congo with 11 points earned in six outings, but will now be without their midfield star Tafadzwa Kutinyu – which could as well harm their stability and chances to make it out of group A.
We do feel Egypt have what it takes to prove their worth and bag all three points on the day but we also hope for an exciting contest in Cairo, as we now go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score – which combines to a very enticing 19/4 with Coral.
With that in mind, it’s easy to make a case for goals on Friday evening and we’re sticking with such a claim, as we also go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 11/10 with MansionBet – which has also caught attention as Egypt struggle to keep clean sheets lately.
