Egypt vs South Africa Match Preview
Egypt have been rather confident as they secured the top spot in Group A, opening the competition with a narrow 1-0 win over Zimbabwe and keeping up their winning streak with more comfortable wins over Congo (2-0) and Uganda (2-0) – where they went two up in the first half on both occasions.
Pharaohs have been rock-solid at the back along the way and kept clean sheets in all three outings, as Javier Aguirre managed to build on high team spirits ahead of the tournament and now sees his men one of the top favourites to lift the Trophy. They will want to keep it up and we hope to see them very motivated at Cairo International Stadium.
One thing South Africa will not miss is the similar motivation but they’ve struggled to impress, slipping their way into the 8th Finals on the back of a 1-0 win over Namibia despite suffering losses to Ivory Coast (1-0) and Morocco (1-0) along the way.
Bafana Bafana have proven themselves a tough side to concede and the two goals allowed on those two occasions were also the only in their last five outings, which will have them very motivated defensively. They have a lot to prove if they’re to get past the hosts and Stuart Baxter has to hope his men have what it takes.
However, we don’t believe they have and backing Egypt really looks like buying money for old rope, as we hope Pharaohs will be able to make their way to the Quarter-finals with confidence and go for them to win to Nil at Evens with 22Bet.
We have seen such clashes on their end many times lately and this has us hoping for another narrow contest, as we also back a low-scoring clash with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with Helabet – which has been rated a banker bet by many in the know.
