Doncaster Rovers vs Southend Match Preview
Doncaster sit just outside the League One’s top 6 with two games in hand and a busy schedule as they look to break into the promotion Play-offs cut, hosting Southend for their Matchday 27 clash just days after taking on 6th placed Peterborough on Saturday.
Donny have lost on their consistency lately and saw just one win in four outings across competitions, but we’ve seen them unbeaten at the Keepmoat Stadium since October! They’ve earned six wins and two draws in last eight outings here and Grant McCann can only ask for more of the same at this point, as his men bagged 14 goals in five games here since mid-December.
Southend have struggled to keep up and we’ve seen them earn just one win in their last five outings across competitions, where Christopher Powell’s men beat Bradford (0-4) but crashed out of EFL Trophy in the hands of Portsmouth (0-2) and suffered losses to Plymouth (2-3), Luton (0-1), and Bristol Rovers (1-2) in League One.
Seasiders have been scoring goals more recently but failed to capitalize on them, which could be even more worrying as this trip could as well mark an end to their chase for the top 6 this term – with six sides breathing down their necks in an attempt to build on a mid-table spot.
We will now back Doncaster to capitalize on such circumstances and bag all three points in front of the home fans once again, where a Home win comes off as the best approach to the fixture at 4/6 with William Hill despite an exciting contest in the making.
Nonetheless, we don’t see Southend falling victims without a solid challenge at the Keepmoat, which promises a high-scoring contest too as we go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with BetVictor. We’ve seen such occasions in all of the last five Doncaster’s clashes here and we now expect more of the same on Tuesday.
