Doncaster vs Portsmouth Match Preview
Doncaster have been somewhat unpredictable but still suffered just one loss in their last eight outings across competitions, as they host Portsmouth for their Matchday 12 clash sitting just three points behind 6th placed Blackpool – with two games in hand and surely high hopes they can capitalize.
Donny have based such a spell on fine home performances and we’ve seen them bag five wins in last six outings at the Keepmoat, with only Blackpool (0-1 loss midway through September) interrupting the great streak. They will now want to keep up their rock-solid goalscoring records here and we do see them doing so.
Portsmouth have seen no better stability and they’ve seen it costly early in the new campaign, as they sit just points clear of the relegation zone with just nine points to their name after eight games played. They have beaten Bolton (1-0) last week but a single goal from Brett Pitman made all the difference, which could be a shaky confidence booster.
Pompey have been scoring goals on the road and their trip to Wycombe Wanderers (1-0) only ended a streak of three trips with at least a goal to their name. They will have to go for goals if they’re to snatch anything from the fixture we feel, which promises a great challenge from Kenny Jackett’s men.
Doncaster should have enough firepower to secure the points, though, and we’ll now rather stick with them to win at 8/5 with bet365 which feels like more than just a lively longshot – catching the eye of many value seekers already.
Donny have been conceding goals on the regular and we thus feel Portsmouth will be able to build on their goalscoring records on the road. We’re thus also backing a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 7/10 with William Hill and looks like a great approach to the fixture.
