Dinamo Zagreb vs Benfica Match Preview
Dinamo Zagreb host Benfica for their Europa League clash on Thursday after being denied all three 1. HNL points at city rivals Lokomotiva, hoping to prove their furious spell of form at Maksimir and earn an advantage ahead of their trip to Portugal.
Blues have bagged 14 wins and two draws in 16 home outings since late September and convincing displays against Viktoria Plzen (3-0) and Osijek (3-0) in last two outings in late February will be a great confidence booster as well. Earning an advantage here will be crucial for ambitions to make it to Quarter-finals and Nenad Bjelica should have no troubles lifting their spirits.
Benfica, on the other hand, come into the match on the back of a 1-2 win over fierce rivals Porto, where goals from Joao Felix and Rafa Silva secured a comeback and their eighth win in nine outings across competitions – with just a goalless draw against Galatasaray also on the records.
Eagles have been in great shape in the final third and we’ve seen them regularly netting numbers of goals, which should have them just as motivated in Zagreb. However, snatching great results here has not proven an easy task this term and we don’t see them making it either.
We will thus stick our necks out for a Draw at Maksimir, which comes at 23/10 with bet365 and looks the best approach to the fixture at this point. We have seen Dinamo as a tough nut to crack and we feel they’ll be able to prove it on the day as well.
They should have to score goals to do so, though, and we still expect an exciting occasion. With that in mind, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score at Evens with William Hill after seeing both scoring numbers of goals on the regular lately.
