Derby vs Leeds Match Preview
Derby ended the season in good form with four victories and two draws from their last six matches to secure the sixth spot. They finished on 74 points which is nine beneath their rivals here while losing both meetings with them this season. This is a grudge match as it was County who United were found to have spied upon their training seasons and feelings will be running high.
At Pride Park, the Rams are unbeaten in their last seven winning five of these including the previous four fixtures. They have scored 15 times from their last four here having hit six against Rotherham, four against Bolton, three against West Brom and two against QPR. Harry Wilson has three in his last three at this ground as does Mason Mount though those all came in one fixture.
Leeds ended the season in poor form with just one point from their final four fixture which includes a final day defeat at bottom side Ipswich. They ended the season in third after looking like they would secure automatic promotion a few months back. Marcelo Bielsa will hope to get his side back to the top flight for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
Away from Elland Road, United are struggling and have lost three of their last four with these defeats coming at Brentford, Birmingham and Ipswich. Just two of their last eight on their travels have gone over 2.5 goals. Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez have both bagged two goals from their last five on the road.
For County to make Wembley they likely need to win their home leg and they should do that given they have won their last four here and have not been beaten in seven. The draw no bet is how we will play it but we could put nobody off backing a home win.
The Rams ended the season in better form than the Whites and we feel they look over-priced to qualify for the final. This should be closer to a 50-50 game then the bookmakers make it and as such backing against a side who ended the season in poor form makes the most sense.
