Derby vs Bristol City Match Preview
Derby host Bristol City for their Matchday 4 clash on Tuesday amid a somewhat unpredictable run of form, where they kicked off the campaign with a 1-2 win at Huddersfield and earned two points in draws against Swansea (0-0) and Stoke (2-2), edging past Scunthorpe (0-1) in League Cup along the way.
Rams have seen their share of excitement too and two goals from Martyn Waghorn brought a point at bet365 Stadium over the weekend, but defensive inconsistencies will still be disappointing for Philip Cocu early on. They will now want to capitalize on the visitors’ struggles away from home, motivated to get more at Pride Park.
Bristol have only ended a three-match winless streak early in the campaign as they beat Queens Park Rangers (2-0) on Saturday, as Adam Nagy and Benik Afobe found the net. This was their first clean sheet this term and building on it will be crucial despite a tough task ahead of them.
Robins have seen a point in two Championship outings beforehand, as Leeds (1-3) snatched all three at Ashton Gate and they snatched one in Birmingham (1-1). The League Cup loss on penalties after a 3-3 draw at QPR could be more disappointing and they will need to show more if they’re to do better on Tuesday evening.
We don’t see them making it happen, though, and we’ll now rather stick with Derby to secure all three points on the day – as we go for a Home win at 23/20 with William Hill. We have seen them tough to score against here and we now hope they can show off such a character once again.
Still, we do hope to see goals and another exciting clash on both sides, as we go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with bet365. We’ve seen goals in both sides’ recent outings and this does give evidence for such a claim, which has many pushing for it.
