DC United vs San Jose Earthquakes Match Preview
DC United host San Jose Earthquakes just days after their mid-week clash against Chicago Fire, where they look to bounce back from a four-match winless streak with just two points bagged to build on their Easter Conference top spot after 15 games played.
Black-and-Red struggled to score goals and just a last-minute penalty kick converted by Wayne Rooney saved a point at New England Revs, as they recuperate after a narrow 2-1 beating at Houston Dynamo and a friendly loss to Spanish rivals Real Betis (2-5). They have been tougher to beat at Audi Field, though, and will now have to prove the point.
San Jose Earthquakes have, on the other end, enjoyed a better spell lately and come into the match after consecutive wins over Chicago Fire (4-1) in front of the home fans and Toronto (1-2) on the road. They’ve impressed in the final third led by Chris Wondolowski and will now be very motivated to break into the Western Conference top 7 with an upset here.
Indeed, Wondolowski netted all six goals along the way as Quakes returned to the winning ways after a 3-1 loss at Revs, as their struggles for consistency on the road still stand obvious – despite finding the net on the regular.
We will now back DC United to capitalize on them and prove their worth in front of the home fans once again, as we go for a Home win at 4/5 with William Hill and hope to see them in better shape this week finally.
Still, we believe they’ll have to find their form in the final third to do so and we do see the visitors finding the net too, as we go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/13 with bet365 – which looks an even safer approach to the fixture at this point.
