Czech Republic vs England Predictions
Czech Republic have a strong record in qualifying for European Championships, even if they’ve still only managed to reach the World Cup finals on one occasion in their last six attempts. This competition however they seem to find somewhat easier and they’ve made it to the finals on the last six consecutive occasions and they’re in a strong position to do so again at this stage of this qualifying group.
As things stand, with five games played, Lokomotiva sit in second place in their group, although they were on the wrong end of a shock defeat at the hands of Kosovo during the last international break. In front of their own fans, Jaroslav Silhavy’s men have been strong in recent fixtures, winning four of their last five competitive home games. A win here would be a shock of their own though at odds of 7/1 with William Hill.
England have been dominant in this qualifying group as they look to go one step further than their World Cup semi-final appearances as they host the final stages of next year’s European Championships. The tournament is set to take place across the continent, with both semi-finals and the final at Wembley, and the Three Lions would love to end their long wait for a trophy in front of their own supporters no doubt.
Gareth Southgate’s men have won all four of their qualifiers for the tournament so far, racking up no fewer than 19 goals in the process, and they will be expected to win the remainder of their matches too to qualify in top spot from this group. Some shaky defensive performances saw Kosovo score three times in their last qualifier though so the manager will be hoping for an altogether more comfortable win in this one at 4/9 with Unibet.
Given that they conceded three times to Kosovo last time out though and given that this Czech side are strong in front of their own supporters, we’re backing England to concede in this game. They don’t look particularly strong defensively, but their in-form attack should still carry them through to a victory without too many complications. The away win and both teams to score bet is available at 23/10 with Ladbrokes.
Harry Kane has continued to score goals despite Tottenham’s poor start to the season. The England skipper has bagged 11 goals in 12 games so far this term for club and country, including four in those two international fixtures against Bulgaria and Kosovo last month. The 26 year old will be expecting to add to his tally of 26 goals for the Three Lions with another couple here at odds of 4/1 with Coral.
