Crystal Palace vs Wolves Match Preview
Wolves are desperately in need of a victory – and they may just be able to achieve an overdue first Premier League win of the season away to Crystal Palace.
After three successive defeats, pressure is starting to build on manager Nuno Espirito Santo who has been struggling to juggle his club’s commitments domestically and in the Europa League with a relatively small squad.
An excellent seventh last term in their first campaign back in the top flight, Wolves are currently second from bottom but the bookmakers do not yet think they will be in any trouble – going into the weekend there was still plenty of 12/1 available for them to be relegated.
A win would be a relief though, and it could come at Crystal Palace whose promising start to the campaign took a big turn for the worse when they conceded four goals in the opening 42 minutes away to Tottenham last weekend.
Defensively the Eagles had been strong up to that point, but just as worrying as that collapse is that they are struggling to score goals having bagged only three in six matches this term and with Wilfried Zaha seemingly adversely affected by his failure to move this summer.
At least Wolves have been finding the net even when losing and this looks a good opportunity for them to claim their first three-point haul, even if only narrowly.
