Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Match Preview
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer puts his 100% away record as Manchester United’s interim manager on the line against a Crystal Palace side who are on comfortably their best run of the season.
Given they have beaten Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea on their travels under Solskjaer, this latest trip to the capital should not hold any fears for United after seven straight away wins.
But Palace will be cock-a-hoop after reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals, beating Spurs along the way, and sealing Claude Puel’s fate with a resounding 4-1 win at Leicester on Saturday.
Unbeaten in six, the Eagles have also saved their best performances for when facing the top clubs this term having also triumphed away to Manchester City and lost narrowly at Anfield.
The fact United were hit by three first-half injuries in Sunday’s draw at home to Liverpool means there will be even more belief in the Palace camp that they can end their lengthy league sequence against these opponents without a victory (see stats above).
However, the Red Devils have drifted to a very tempting price here and being so solid defensively just now, and still having enough quality up front despite the absences, they are backed to keep up their outstanding record on the road under manager-elect Solskjaer.
