Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Match Preview
Liverpool entered the international break on the highest of notes after beating Manchester City and are expected to stay on the winning track at Selhurst Park.
Sunday November 10 was a key day in the Premier League title race as the Reds retained an eight-point advantage over closest pursuers Leicester and, probably more importantly, increased the gap to nine over reigning champions City with a 3-1 Anfield victory.
The trophy is already Liverpool’s to lose, there is no doubt about that, and the rest of the campaign will be all about how Jurgen Klopp’s squad copes with a hectic fixture schedule in five competitions and also the pressure of a 30-year wait for another English league crown.
Matches like Crystal Palace away are a banana skin, especially with important players in Mo Salah and Andy Robertson set to be missing due to injury. The Reds have a big enough squad, but do they possess adequate cover in areas such as left-back when Robertson is out?
Palace, meanwhile, have gone off the boil after a promising start, although they have had a tough run of fixtures which eases after this one until mid-January. Scoring goals has been a problem for the Eagles of late with three blanks in their last four games.
Wilfried Zaha is still giving the impression of a player who does not want to be at the club, but he and his Palace team-mates may well score against a Liverpool side without a clean sheet in nine matches – though one goal is unlikely to be enough to stop the leaders from marching on triumphantly.
