Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth Match Preview
Crystal Palace’s home record this season is anything but that of a team that should be odds-on against a Bournemouth side right next to them in the Premier League table.
The theme of what can be described as a fairly ordinary campaign for the Eagles in terms of achievement has been their outstanding away results, with nine league victories on the road compared to just four at Selhurst Park – where a lack of goals scored has been the problem.
Roy Hodgson’s side are finishing off quite strongly, but we simply cannot back them at odds of 10/11 when they have won just 22% of their home fixtures this term.
Bournemouth are not the most consistent team either, and it is no coincidence that these clubs are 12th and 13th in the table, also just a solitary point apart, when you consider their up-and-down records.
In consecutive home games, the Cherries have lost to relegated Fulham and beaten Champions League finalists Tottenham to show just how much they can vary, and if anything they appear more potent on their travels at present having scored eight goals in their last two away matches.
If Eddie Howe’s side can get among the goals again here, there is every chance they can avoid slipping further adrift of Palace in the final reckoning.
