Cruzeiro vs Chapecoense Match Preview
Cruzeiro host Chapecoense for their Matchday 6 clash amid a troubled spell of form where they dropped league points to Internacional (3-1) and Fluminense (4-1) on the road but also saw a Copa Libertadores loss to Emelec (1-2) and snatched a 1-1 draw at Flu in Copa do Brasil.
Raposa have been a tougher side to beat at home ground and will now hope to show it off after three consecutive trips, which sees them heavy favourites to win the contest. They’ve been scoring goals on the regular but also struggled defensively, not keeping a clean sheet in any of their last five outings since the 1-0 win over Ceara here.
Chapecoense have seen similar trouble lately and only bagged one point in their last four outings, as Flamengo (2-1) and Fortaleza (1-3) beat them over the past two weeks, despite finding the net on both occasions.
Indeed, Verdao have struggled to produce on the road even more and this will feel just as worrying for Ney Franco, as his men can’t boast a great history of results at Estadio Governador Magalhaes Pinto.
We do feel Cruzeiro will be able to keep that up and now end their troubled streak, as they mark a return to the winning ways in an exciting contest with a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at 10/13 with bet365.
With that in mind, it’s easy to make a case for a high-scoring game on the day and we’ll thus go for Over 2.5 Goals FT as well, which caught the eye of many at 6/5 with William Hill with both sides seeing such clashes lately.
