Coventry vs Ipswich Match Preview
Coventry have seen their winning streak of three ended as they suffered a Birmingham Senior Cup loss to Nuneaton Borough (3-0) and they failed to bounce to the winning ways – as Mark Robins’ men conceded a last-minute equalizer at Stadium of Light (1-1) on Saturday.
Sky Blues certainly have their regrets but they’ve thus seen their unpredictable spell of form emphasized once again, with just one win earned on five trips since mid-October. They have been more confident at St Andrew’s, though, and will hope to show it once again – looking for their fourth win in five outings here. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals along the way and the attacking line certainly delivered at this ground.
Ipswich have, on the other hand, seen draws against Blackpool (2-2) and Wycombe (0-0) in front of the home fans, building on a narrow 1st Round win over Lincoln (0-1). They have obviously struggled for stability but Paul Lambert’s men have ground to build on, sitting 2nd in League One and still running in FA Cup and EFL Trophy.
Still, Tractor Boys have a lot to prove if they’re to finally shake off the feeling and start building on a winning streak once again. They’ve been solid on the road but snatching a ticket to the 3rd Round on Sunday afternoon will be no easy task and we don’t see them making it happen.
We’ll thus back Coventry to capitalize on the rivals’ inconsistency and make the best out of the home turf advantage, going for a Home win at 13/10 with bet365 and hoping they can turn a thrilling contest their way this time around.
We’ve seen them scoring (and conceding) regularly here and we hope for another exciting occasion now. We’re thus backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 19/20 with bet365 and hoping to see in-form attacking lines at their best on the day.
