Columbus Crew vs Atlanta United Match Preview

Atlanta United travel to Ohio for their MLS clash amid a troubled start of the new campaign, where they have just one win to their name in last five outings across competitions and wasn’t enough to get past Monterrey in CONCACAF Champions League – after a 3-0 loss seen in Mexico.

Five Stripes kicked off the new campaign with a 2-0 loss at DC United and failed to bounce back to the winning ways, seeing just draws against Cincinnati (1-1) and Philadelphia Union (1-1) in two MLS outings in front of the home fans since then.

They will now want more but getting it at Columbus Crew will be no easy task, as the rivals seem to be in a better place despite coming into the match with a convincing 3-0 loss at Philadelphia Union behind them – where David Accam bagged a brace and Ilsinho added one early in the second half.

Crew have thus only seen their six-match unbeaten streak ended after bagging seven points in three MLS outings, including a 1-1 draw against New York Red Bulls as well as wins over New England (0-2) on the road and Dallas (1-0) at MAPFRE Stadium. We now feel they’ll be very motivated to recuperate here and we do see them making it happen.

We’ll thus stick with a Home win here, which comes at Evens with Paddy Power and has caught a lot of attention despite a narrow contest for the points expected. Crew haven’t suffered a home loss since June, when Atlanta snatched the points in a 0-2 win here, and we feel they’ll now take revenge.
