Colorado Rapids vs Seattle Sounders Match Preview
Seattle Sounders travel to Denver for their Thursday’s clash at Colorado Rapids in great spirits after extending a five-match unbeaten streak early in the new MLS campaign, boasting 13 points to their name and now looking to challenge Los Angeles FC at the top of the Western Conference table.
Sounders have beaten Real Salt Lake (1-0) in a narrow contest with a single goal from Nicolas Lodeiro, returning to the winning ways after a goalless draw seen at Vancouver– which will feel worrying coming as the only point Whitecaps earned this term. They have been rock-solid at the back, though, and Brian Schmetzer will have a lot to hope for here.
Colorado haven’t beaten since May 2016 and this will be just as worrying as their troubles spell of form early on. They’ve earned just two points in six outings as they held off Portland Timbers (3-3) and Sporting KC (1-1) but suffered narrow losses at Sounders (2-0), Dallas (2-1), Houston (1-4), and Orlando City (4-3) most recently.
Rapids took the lead twice in a thriller contest at Orlando City Stadium but still conceded twice in the last ten minutes, as Nani converted an 89’ penalty kick to secure all three points. They will now have to recuperate quickly but we don’t see them doing so against in-form visitors.
We’ll thus stick our necks out for Sounders to snatch all three points at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and keep up their lengthy winning streak in head-to-head clashes with an Away win priced at 13/10 with bet365.
We have seen both sides scoring numbers of goals on the regular and while Rapids conceded more, we feel they’ll be able to turn this one into an exciting contest. With that in mind, we’re also going for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with William Hill.
