Colorado Rapids vs New England Revolution Match Preview
Colorado Rapids have rediscovered their form and while they’ve seen a US Open loss to New Mexico United (on penalties after a 2-2 draw) interrupt their unbeaten streak, Conor Casey’s men bounced back and now host New England for their mid-week clash on the back of a 1-0 win over Los Angeles FC.
Rapids held Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-2 draw on the road beforehand too and obviously show off as a tough nut to crack, desperate for points to break into the Western Conference top 7 despite a very slow start of the new campaign under Anthony Hudson.
New England Revolution, on the other hand, come into the match on the back of an exciting 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo, where they fell behind but completed a comeback with a last-minute winner from Teal Bunbury. They’ve been scoring goals on the regular and will now surely want to keep up such a streak at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park too.
Revs have seen more troubles turning clashes their way on the road, though, and this could be more worrying. They’ve still bagged six goals on three trips despite a tough schedule and now pose a serious challenge, allowing no place for complacency in search of points for a top 7 challenge in Eastern Conference of their own.
We do feel the reinvigorated Colorado Rapids have what it takes to overcome such a challenge, though, and we’ll now back them to bag the points at 17/20 with bet365 in hope they can keep up performances we’ve seen over the past month and a half.
Beating Revs should prove no walk in the park, though, and we expect to see goals on both ends. We’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/13 with Coral, which has seen big hitters lumping already with the sides goalscoring records of recent.
