Colorado Rapids have ended an eight-match losing streak as they beat LA Galaxy (0-1) on Monday, capitalizing on the rivals’ woes of recent and now hosting Columbus Crew hoping to do the same and build on the high team spirits – despite sitting rock-bottomed Western Conference table.
Rapids have struggled defensively and conceded six goals in losses to Whitecaps (2-3) and Real Salt Lake (2-3) beforehand, struggling to capitalize on the goals scored and consequently sitting far from their best still early in the new campaign – with a huge 11-point gap to the top 7.
Columbus Crew have seen similar troubles more recently and losses to Los Angeles FC (0-3) and Minnesota United (1-0) saw them fail to find the net but also added to a disappointing tally of seven losses in eight outings.
Crew have beaten LA Galaxy (3-1) along the way too but have hardly been able to put on such convincing displays in the final third away from home, which will be more worrying for Caleb Porter ahead of the trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
We do see them snatching a point, though, and we’ll now stick with the struggling rivals to share the spoils in a Draw at 12/5 with bet365. We have seen both sides conceding numbers of goals and this feels like great value for those keeping faith for a narrow contest now as well.
